    112300 - WALKING FOR THE HEALTH OF IT

    WALKING FOR THE HEALTH OF IT (AGES 50+)
    This is a Drop In Class meeting Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
    This class is an evidence-based group exercise program that helps older adults of all fitness levels become more active, energized, and able to maintain their independence. The program consists of a 5 minute warm up, a 20-minute warm up, a 20-minute walk, 20 minutes of strength training with ankle and hand weights (provided) 10 minutes of stretching and balance exercises throughout class. Participants may walk indoors or outdoors. Participants are encouraged to work at their own level. Exercises can be modified and can be done from sitting or standing. There are plenty of opportunities to socialize, and make friends. This class is funded by a grant from the Tri-County Office on Aging. There is no fee for the class.
