    Are you looking for a social justice, community oriented, service opportunity for your teen? Breaking Silence 517 is a youth-based community service and civic leadership arts and digital social justice group. Civic leadership is a wonderful way to get your teen college and career ready. Participants will choose community based organizations to partner with to develop civic leadership skills around a service project of their vision and design. Participants will learn to develop strategies for social justice, civic leadership, and grassroots community change. Teens will also: enrich their understanding of local, state, and world events; what it means to think globally and act locally; and develop papers, presentations, and digital media productions to share with local leaders and policy makers.     "Joy and Sadness during the Holidays" - Observing and embracing the feelings of joy and sadness that you experience during the holiday season.
    Calm the mind and body, grow self-awareness, and find inner strength and peace. All you need to do is breathe, close your eyes and listen. After the introduction, each guided meditation is 30 minutes, followed by a period of silent reflection. Bring a pillow, mat or blanket for your comfort. Instructor: Vicki Potter.

Don't just sit at home after school, come to Letts and make new friends, learn new skills and have fun! Snack will be served daily, provided by the Lansing School District meal service program. After school bussing is available from Lewton, Willow,Walking pick up from Riddle, call Letts at 483-4311 for more details. No Program on LSD Half-Day, No School Days or National Holidays. 1:18 ratio, limited space available.
